THE PROCESS
CHURCH INVOLVEMENT IN ISI PARTNERSHIP MINISTRY
- The local church becomes a Ministry Partner with ISI.
- The local church appoints a Church Team Leader.
- ISI’s Church Team Trainer (or appointed ISI team member) meets with the Church Team Leader to plan the church’s strategy.
- Pools of international students are identified and coordination of relationship with the university’s International Student Advisor (ISA) is agreed upon.
- The Church Team Leader recruits a volunteer International Student Ministry (ISM) team.
- A prayer team for the local church’s ISM is recruited.
- ISI provides Church Team Training.
- The ISM vision/opportunity is presented to the congregation (for volunteer recruitment).
- Friendship Partners™ are recruited.
- ISI provides Friendship Partner™ Training.
- Church/families host activities for international students.
- Testimonies and promotion of the ministry is made to the congregation on a regular basis to build awareness and expand the ministry.
- Evangelism and discipleship opportunities are offered (include distribution of international student bibles available through ISI).
- Student names are forwarded to ISI as they leave the area for national/global follow-up and continued ministry in the lives of students.
